Is the story about our real relationship?

Accepted Answer

No, and we would rather say so here than after you buy. A Ready-Made Story is a finished love story we wrote in advance, with your names printed in it and, on the Fitted edition, some of your details written in. It does not retell how you met or your years together. If you want your own history in the book, the Journal Edition gives you the pages to write it.

How far ahead should I order for our anniversary?

Your book is ready to read in about 5 minutes. After you approve and order, manufacturing takes 10-13 business days and shipping a further 3-8 business days to a US address, about 3-4 weeks in total; Canada and the UK take a little longer, and your cart shows the estimate for your address. We do not offer rush shipping, so order at least that far ahead.

The date is too close. Is there anything faster?

The Digital Edition skips the printer. We start preparing the files as soon as your payment goes through and email you when they are ready, usually within a few minutes; they land on your own Downloads page, so you can read the book together on the day while the printed copy is on its way. With a printed copy, the e-book and audiobook can be added to the same order only when you are ordering from the United States for delivery there. You can add them after your order instead, at the same add-on price. Outside the United States, the Digital Edition and the audiobook are sold by our international reseller, which may charge in your currency and adds your local tax.

Can we fill it in together?

Yes. Choose the Journal Edition, and the printed book arrives with your cover and title and pages to write in, so you can add to it on each anniversary.

The book is made and reviewed in your own account, and every email about it comes to you. You also choose where it ships: to you, or straight to them.

On a Ready-Made Story you can edit paragraphs yourself (unlocking editing costs 3 credits) before you approve it. Nothing is printed until you do.
