Viewing Transaction History

Where to see your credit transactions, what each entry means, and how to check what a credit was spent on.

Viewing Transaction History

Every credit that goes into or out of your account is recorded, and you can read the whole record yourself. The Credits page has a Recent Transactions section near the bottom showing the most recent ones. It only appears once you have at least one transaction.

What Each Entry Shows

  • The description — what the credits were for, in plain words. A purchase reads like “Purchased 10 Credits (10 credits)”. Some spends name the book by its title, like “Unlock paragraph editing: Buddy’s Big Adventure”. Others name it by its number instead — a new cover design is recorded as “Cover preview for book #12”, where 12 is the number that appears in the web address of that book’s page. Both point at the same book.
  • The date and time it happened.
  • The amount — credits added are green with a plus sign, credits spent are red with a minus sign.
  • Balance — what your balance was immediately after that transaction, so you can follow the running total down the page.

Seeing Everything

Recent Transactions on the Credits page shows the newest ones with page links underneath, so your whole history is already readable there. If you would rather see more per screen, click View All beside the heading for the full Transaction History page, which fits more on a page and has its own page links, with your Current Balance in the corner. Each entry there also carries a short tag naming the kind of transaction it was. Most read purchase, spend or refund, but some name the action instead — a new cover design is tagged cover_preview. The tag is shorthand; the description beside it is the plain-English version.

If you have never bought or spent a credit, that page says No Transactions Yet. That is normal, and not a sign anything is wrong.

If Something Looks Wrong

If a charge is there that you do not recognize, or credits were taken for something that then failed, contact support and quote the date and the description from the entry. When an action is charged and then cannot be started, the credits are returned automatically and you will see a separate refund entry for them — so check the lines just below the charge before worrying.
